Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Tradesman Boilermaker is responsible for repairing and maintaining mobile equipment, fixed plant welding and associated ancillary equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must understand and comply with the maintenance performance indices assigned to their area, (KPI’s) ensuring that the Section's daily work plans are executed as directed
- Ability to sort priorities and take action in a reasonable time frame
- Maintain and continue to update knowledge by consistent review of equipment manuals and operation and maintenance literature
- Ensure parts, materials and tooling are available to enable delivery of maintenance service as planned and required
- Competent in procedures to isolate machines and tag out (i.e. Danger Tags, Out of Service tags) in accordance with the Company's danger tag isolation procedure
- Ensure continuous improvement of service delivery by utilization of systems to plan, complete maintenance work and record for compliance and equipment history purposes
- Ensure preventative maintenance system compliance to support reduction in equipment damage and improvements in reliability
Qualifications, skills and experience required:
- Recognized trade certificate in Metal Fabrication & Welding
- 5 years’ trade experience in relative technical areas with sound communication & technical skills
- Experienced with MMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW welding process
- Ability to pass Welding Test as a Condition of Employment
- Experience welding exotic material (Titanium, Inconel, Alloy 20, Stainless steel) to Australian pressure welding standards
- Ability to locate, read, interpret and understand documents such as safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, parts and service manuals
