Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Financial statements preparation – monthly, quarterly, and annual operational and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with companies & trusts and legislative requirements.
  • Tax returns preparation – companies, trusts, and individuals.
  • Adhoc projects as required.
  • Assist with the external audit process including liaising with auditors.
  • Assisting with effective budgeting and forecasting to contribute to the delivery of accurate and timely financial plans.
  • Act as the Financial systems administrator and super user.
  • A very good understanding of accounting principles and Australian tax law for Individuals, Trust and Companies. (Div7A, S100A, CGT- SBE Concessions).
  • Experience in public practice, preparing financial accounts, tax returns and other lodgements on behalf of companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
  • Excellent communication skills, as you will be liaising directly with your own client portfolio.
  • Xero (Advanced) – Including fixed Asset register setup.
  • MYOB skills.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 7+ years of accounting experience (minimum 3 years of Australian accounting experience)
  • Working knowledge of Australian tax laws and accounting standards.
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of competency with Microsoft Office suite products.
  • CPA or CA Qualified (Working towards is acceptable)
