Role Description: Associate Architect cum Associate Engineering Manager plays a vital role in SwivelTech being the technical and management authority in the Engineering Management team. This role reports to Vice President of Engineering and it is the 3rd level in the organization hierarchy. The role has direct client exposure in delivering software solutions, offering advocacy around software discipline and uplifting engineering practices and software engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage development teams, providing guidance, support, and mentorship, ensuring they follow architectural guidelines and best practices.
- Conduct discovery sessions with client stakeholders, create resource allocation plans, generate project timelines and high-level delivery schedules, and work closely with engineering leadership team to obtain projects to SwivelTech.
- Ability to oversee end-to-end project delivery, including aspects such as personnel management, quality assurance, architectural considerations, and overall engineering ownership of the projects.
- Have a keen interest in defining, reviewing engineering best practices and collecting project metrics periodically and analyzing them to continuously improve the teams to be better at their engineering skills.
- Ability to perform research and development to evaluate multiple approaches and finalize optimum results while recommending options to go ahead by considering cost, timelines and effort.
- Offer periodic updates to the leadership team, identify and mitigate project risks from the inception to project handover.
- Implement and oversee agile development processes including backlog grooming, iteration planning, daily sync-up meetings, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Coordinate effective communication and collaboration between technical and non-technical client stakeholders and the engineering team, while managing the process of gathering client requirements and resolving any client issues.
- Coordinate with development, quality, dev-ops, UI/UX teams to plan and prioritize project work.
- Having previous experience with leading AI & ML related projects will be an added advantage.
- Integrate AI solutions seamlessly with existing systems and applications.
- Participate in the recruitment process by interviewing and offer hiring recommendations to engineering leadership to grow SwivelTech.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews, set goals, and provide feedback to help team members grow in their roles.
Years of Experience: Minimum 10+ years of software development experience with 5+ years of team leading experience.
Must Have Skills:
- JavaScript Stack: 6+ Years
NodeJS: 5 + years
TypeScript: 3+ years
ReactJS: 3+ years
- Architectural & Design Exposure: 6+ Years
Microservices
Serverless Architecture
- Cloud Experience: 4+ Years
AWS Lamba, Azure Functions (Azure or AWS)
Design and deploy micro-services and serverless based applications
Knowledge in containerization and orchestration
- Experience with Agile Software Development
- Research & Development
Nice to Have Skills:
- Next.JS: 2+ years
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
- Hands on experience in leading at least two – three projects
- Guide a team or devise a plan for software project to implement AI, ML related capabilities
