Your Role
- Develop, test, and maintain embedded hardware and firmware for Atlas Labs’ connected technology products.
- Own the technical validation of hardware during production, ensuring assembled devices meet design, quality, and functional requirements before deployment.
- Develop and maintain embedded software for microcontrollers, processors, Linux-based systems, and RTOS environments.
- Design and troubleshoot electronic circuits, schematics, PCB assemblies, sensors, power systems, and peripheral interfaces.
- Support the transition of new hardware from prototype to production, including defining test procedures, identifying manufacturing issues, and implementing engineering improvements.
- Build and maintain production testing, device validation, and provisioning processes to ensure consistent product quality at scale.
- Integrate and validate communication technologies including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, and other device connectivity protocols.
- Integrate embedded devices with cloud services, APIs, and AI-based systems to enable data collection, processing, monitoring, and intelligent product features.
- Work with AI and software teams to integrate models and inference pipelines with edge devices and ensure reliable communication between hardware, firmware, and application platforms.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, firmware, connectivity, and device-level issues identified during production, testing, deployment, and field operation.
- Develop tools, scripts, and automation to improve device testing, configuration, diagnostics, firmware deployment, and production efficiency.
- Maintain clear engineering documentation, including hardware specifications, firmware changes, test procedures, production instructions, and technical troubleshooting records.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, AI, product, manufacturing, and supplier teams throughout the product development and production lifecycle.
- Evaluate component changes, hardware revisions, and engineering modifications to improve product reliability, manufacturability, performance, and cost.
- Contribute to system architecture and technical decisions for new embedded and AI-enabled products from early development through production and deployment.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience developing embedded hardware/software solutions.
- Experience in schematic design and PCB development.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming for embedded systems, including ARM and microcontrollers.
- Understanding of mixed-signal circuit design and system integration.
- Familiarity with AI/ML technologies is a plus.
- Understanding of software design patterns and version control.
- Experience with KiCAD 6 or similar design tools is a plus.
- Experience designing and debugging PCBs using tools such as oscilloscopes is a plus.
- Understanding of wireless communication protocols.
- Experience with RTOS is a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
