Primary Objective
The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for the effective management, maintenance coordination, compliance, and operational readiness of the Company's fleet assets. The role ensures all vehicles and fleet equipment are maintained in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective condition through the coordination of qualified service providers and contractors.
Responsibilities
· Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all fleet assets.
· Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical defects, wear and tear, safety concerns, and maintenance requirements.
· Assess vehicle conditions and recommend appropriate repairs, servicing, or replacement requirements.
· Liaise with external mechanics, workshops, service providers, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
· Review repair recommendations and quotations and provide informed advice to management on the most appropriate course of action.
· Monitor the quality of maintenance and repair work performed by external service providers.
· Ensure defects and maintenance issues are addressed promptly to minimize downtime.
· Track all servicing, repairs, breakdowns, and maintenance history for fleet assets.
· Provide technical guidance and recommendations regarding vehicle performance, reliability, and lifecycle management.
· Support the identification and procurement of suitable vehicles and fleet equipment based on operational requirements.
· Ensure all fleet assets remain roadworthy, compliant, and fit for operational use.
Skills & Competencies:
· Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and fleet operations.
· Ability to identify and assess mechanical faults and maintenance requirements.
· Ability to evaluate technical reports and repair recommendations.
· Knowledge of fleet maintenance planning and contractor management.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Sound understanding of vehicle lifecycle management and asset utilization.
· Ability to negotiate effectively with service providers and suppliers.
