Design the Product Experience for an AI + IoT Platform
Atlas Labs is looking for a UI/UX Designer with strong creative design skills to join our team and work on Horcery, an AI-powered equestrian technology product built to give barn owners, trainers, and horse care teams better visibility into what is happening inside the stable.
Horcery brings together live video, smart monitoring, device data, cloud services, and AI-driven insights to help people care for horses with more confidence and speed. Behind that simple customer promise is a product experience that needs to make complex technology feel clear, calm, trustworthy, and easy to use.
We are looking for someone who can design polished product experiences while also bringing strong visual and creative instincts. You will work across user flows, interface design, design systems, prototypes, product visuals, onboarding moments, icons, and creative assets that help users understand and trust the product.
The Role
As UI/UX Designer, you will help shape how Horcery looks, feels, and works across its customer-facing product experience. This is a UI/UX-focused role, but not a narrow screen-design role. The right person will be curious about the full product and comfortable working with product, frontend, backend, data science, firmware, IoT, and leadership teams to turn a complex physical-digital product into something customers enjoy using.
You will design interfaces for mobile and web experiences, build prototypes and work closely with engineers to make sure designs are implemented with quality. You will also contribute creative design skills where needed, including simple marketing/product assets, and visual concepts that support the Horcery brand.
We are especially interested in someone who is comfortable using AI as part of their design workflow. You should be able to use AI tools to explore directions, speed up ideation, while still relying on your own taste, judgement, and understanding of the product.
What You’ll Do
- Design intuitive mobile and web product experiences for the Horcery product.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI, and implementation-ready design specifications.
- Maintain and improve Horcery's design system, including components, typography, spacing, colours, icons, interaction states, and responsive patterns.
- Translate complex AI, IoT, video, and device-data behaviours into clear product experiences that users can understand quickly.
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers to support accurate implementation and practical design handoff.
- Use AI tools actively in the design process to support ideation, prototyping, UX writing, visual exploration, documentation, and quality review.
- Create creative design assets where needed, including icons, illustrations, onboarding visuals, product graphics, presentation visuals, and lightweight marketing/product materials.
- Contribute to product discussions by giving input on usability, customer experience, feature clarity, and design feasibility.
- Help make Horcery feel calm, polished, reliable, and purpose-built for the equestrian world.
The Design Stack
- Product Design: Figma, FigJam, wireframes, prototypes, design systems, interaction design, responsive design
- UI/UX: IOS and Android Mobile app design, web app design, user flows, accessibility, usability, product copy, states and edge cases
- Creative Design: Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools, iconography, illustration, visual concepts, product graphics, presentation assets
- AI / Design Workflow: Claude Design, Higgsfield
- Bonus: Motion design, Lottie/Rive, basic frontend understanding, React Native or web implementation awareness
What You Bring
- Degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or an equivalent academic discipline;
- At least 3 years of experience in a UX/UI design role or similar across mobile and web products.
- Strong Figma skills, including components, variants, auto layout, prototypes, and design system usage.
- Good creative design instincts, with the ability to create polished visuals, icons, illustrations, or supporting product assets when needed.
- Ability to translate complex product requirements into simple, usable, well-structured design flows.
- Confidence designing for real product states, including loading, empty, error, permission, offline, notification, and edge-case scenarios.
- Comfort working with engineers and understanding technical constraints without needing everything simplified.
- Confidence using AI tools as part of your everyday design workflow.
- Strong attention to detail across spacing, hierarchy, typography, alignment, responsiveness, and interaction states.
Benefits
In addition to our wonderful team, our great culture, and our magnificent vision, there are a wide range of additional benefits that makes Atlas Labs an amazing place to work! You can receive:
- Opportunity to work on an international product used heavily by US clientele;
- The experience of creating and implementing highly-valuable and innovative technology, while contributing to the long-term growth of a successful tech company;
- High-impact working environment with flat hierarchies and short decision-making processes;
- Market rate remuneration in US Dollars;
- State-of-the-art hardware to work with and a modern software infrastructure.
Why This Role Matters
Horcery is at a stage where product design decisions will strongly shape how customers understand and use the platform.
The experience you design will help users make sense of live video and AI-driven insights. In this product, design is not decoration. It directly affects trust, speed, clarity, and how confidently people can respond when a horse may need attention.
You will help make Horcery feel like a purpose-built care platform for the equestrian world, not generic surveillance software with a nicer interface. As the product grows, this role can grow with it into broader ownership across product experience, design systems, creative direction, and customer-facing design quality.
