The Corporate Planning function is responsible for driving the Company's financial planning activities by developing budgets, monitoring financial performance, and delivering business insights that support strategic decision-making. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure financial resources are allocated effectively and organizational objectives are achieved.
The successful candidate will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and performance monitoring while providing management with accurate financial information to support business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and consolidation of the company's annual budgeting process, including revenue projections, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and workforce planning.
- Monitor overall financial performance by managing Profit & Loss reporting and collaborating with business units to ensure financial targets remain aligned with operational objectives.
- Conduct detailed analysis on budget versus actual performance, identify key variances, and provide recommendations to improve business results.
- Evaluate business performance by analyzing sales trends, cost efficiency, profitability, and productivity to support strategic initiatives.
- Partner closely with operational teams, including retail/store operations, to translate financial data into actionable business improvements.
- Prepare regular management reports covering financial performance, budget utilization, forecasting, profitability, and key business indicators.
- Promote financial awareness across departments by providing guidance on budgeting principles, cost management, and financial discipline.
- Identify opportunities to optimize operational costs while maintaining business effectiveness and long-term sustainability.
- Coordinate the complete financial planning cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, revisions, and financial monitoring across all business functions.
- Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling, scenario planning, feasibility analysis, and other ad hoc business evaluations.
- Ensure all planning activities comply with internal governance, financial controls, and company policies.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in a Big Four accounting firm, preferably in Audit, Advisory, Transaction Services, or similar functions.
- 2–3 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Planning, Commercial Finance, or Business Finance within the retail or consumer business sector.
Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance management.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and generate strategic recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
- Familiarity with financial reporting, management accounting, and internal control principles.
- Basic understanding of treasury, corporate finance, and project evaluation methodologies.
- Experience in preparing business reports, presentations, and executive-level financial summaries.
