Role Description
This position is a hands-on role dedicated to helping large, complex retail clients
implement the Enactor applications and systems in their businesses. You will be
working with technical and business people within customer teams to define and
implement application configurations, application enhancements, customizations
and technical integrations between systems.
The role reports to the technical head in the USA and will work closely with
colleagues in the USA, UK and Sri Lanka to define application and integration
requirements and see them configured and implemented. You will become the first
port of call for product expertise by our customers and will work with development
teams in Sri Lanka to see customer requirements implemented and delivered.
Much of the time you will be working with our customers and partners defining
functional and technical requirements in the area of POS, store inventory and
customer systems and assisting them in configuring our applications to meet their
requirements. You will also run workshops, training programs and technical
sessions to educate, discover and refine requirements. You will be working closely
with Enactor’s product and development teams in the UK and Sri Lanka.

Requirements
A detailed knowledge of retail store processes and how they are implemented and
supported by IT systems is vital and over time you will be expected to become expert
in the capabilities, use and implementation of the Enactor applications.
The job is a senior technical and application role and consequently the individual
must be able to handle themselves with confidence both within Enactor and with
senior individuals within our customers and partners. Proven organizational and
presentation skills are needed. You will have the ability to understand complex
application and technical environments, taking technical requirements and driving
them through to well designed solutions.
Day-to-day the job will be to engage with our customer’s application and technical
teams to help them implement the Enactor software into their businesses. You will
love the challenge of solving problems and have a thirst for application and technical
knowledge.
Establishing effective day-to-day working relationships with Enactor’s project delivery
teams, developers and other technical teams such as Application Consultants,
Technical Architects and Customer Success Managers will be crucial. Enactor is a
highly technical set of products and a key part of the role will be to work with the
other resources in the business that are necessary to implement systems.
The role requires an experienced and proven individual who has at least 10 years in
a similar role working with retail store system applications and systems for large
retailers.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Management
a. Collaborate, communicate and influence people across business and
technical roles both internally and externally
b. Influence customer teams up to and including CIO level
c. Be comfortable working independently onsite with customers
- Requirement Gathering and Analysis
a. Collaborate with customers to gather, challenge and document
business requirements
b. Run functional workshops with large groups of stakeholders within our
retail customers
c. Conduct functional gap analysis and recommend solutions to bridge
identified gaps
d. Work with development teams to help define technical solutions and
specifications
e. Provide initial technical oversight for all submitted application and
infrastructure change requests from the customer
- System Implementation and Support
a. Oversee the implementation of POS systems, ensuring they meet
business requirements
b. Work with customers in “side-by-side” application configuration
sessions
c. Assist with education and approaches for application integration
d. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for POS systems during
the project
e. Coordinate with internal teams, customers & third parties to resolve
technical issues
f. Support application and technical queries with excellent knowledge of
Enactor’s applications.
- Project Delivery
a. Run application training sessions with different levels of customer
business and technical roles
b. Work in partnership with Enactor Customer Success Managers (project
managers), Solution Architects and engineering teams.
c. Be delivery focussed, shaping and defining project commitments with
Customer Success Managers
d. Support the Customer Success Manager by providing input into project
planning sessions
e. Actively promote internal information sharing and transparency on
project matters
f. Work cross functionally with other departments to solve issues &
manage deliveries such as infrastructure, performance, security &
stability
g. Act as an escalation point for customer technical queries and problems
during the project
Qualifications & Key Competencies
- Academic & Background
a. Degree level qualification in computer science or equivalent
b. At least 10 years previous experience in a similar role working for
either a retail systems software provider or large retailer
c. Good knowledge of store systems such as POS, Clienteling, Loyalty
and store payment systems
d. In-depth knowledge of the analysis, design, implementation and
evaluation of IT systems
