Responsibilities

  • Direct the engineering team in the conception, planning, and delivery of software solutions that align with the business’s strategic objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and empowering environment to enhance productivity, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Work closely with the CTO and other senior leaders to define and refine engineering strategies.
  • Lead the scale technology frameworks and infrastructure to support the growth of the business.
  • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits for software design and development processes.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders to deliver high-value product features on time and within budget.
  • Drive the recruitment, training, and professional development of the engineering staff.
  • Evaluate and implement advanced software tools, processes, and metrics to aid in development efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
  • Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices.
  • Manage and optimize team performance, resources, and equipment to meet internal financial targets.
  • Develop and maintain a technology roadmap, prioritizing critical initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies.
  • Encourage and lead innovation and creative problem-solving across the engineering team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing mid to large-sized engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical background with experience in software development and web technologies.
  • Proven track record of managing software engineering teams delivering high-quality software products on time and within budget.
  • Extensive experience with modern software development practices and tools, including Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent leadership and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in staffing, mentoring, and maintaining a best-in-class engineering team.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud platforms.
