Who We Are

The Small Business Project (TSBP) is a remote team of marketers with clientele spread across India and overseas, in industries such as travel, events, hospitality, personal care, health care, children's products, lifestyle, and technology.

Our successful campaigns include those for: Shark Tank stars like Cosmix and Moonshine, Vir Das, TEDx Gateway, Kommune and Spotify's P'odium, and Spoken Fest.

Who We Are Looking For

We're looking for a full-time, remote Head of Content who thrives at the intersection of creativity and performance. You'll lead content quality across diverse campaigns – from e-commerce to lead generation, events to full website builds – ensuring every word drives results.

This isn't about churning out copy. It's about understanding what makes customers click, convert, and come back. You'll oversee a team of up to 5 content leads, shaping strategy based on real performance data while maintaining the creative excellence our clients expect.

Job Description

1. Drive Strategy Through Performance

  • Collaborate with our Head of Growth and Content Leads to develop data-informed content strategies
  • Review monthly ad performance reports and translate insights into strategic pivots
  • Research competitor messaging and industry trends to keep our clients ahead of the curve
  • Make strategic calls on messaging based on what's actually working, not just what sounds good

2. Own Quality & Consistency

  • QC all content deliverables – briefs, ad copy, website content, and design assets – before they go live
  • Establish and enforce quality standards that balance creativity with conversion goals
  • Ensure brand voice and messaging consistency across 10+ diverse industries (from ayurvedic wellness to music festivals)

3. Lead & Develop Your Team

  • Manage up to 5 content leads, providing guidance and mentorship
  • Conduct daily check-ins to keep projects on track and unblock your team
  • Train new team members on our processes, standards, and strategic approach
  • Jump in to write when your team needs support – you're hands-on when it counts

4. Master Remote Collaboration

  • Set realistic timelines and manage stakeholder expectations proactively
  • Communicate openly and promptly – essential in our fully remote environment
  • Coordinate across content, design, and development teams for website projects
  • Keep multiple campaigns moving simultaneously without dropping the ball

You're a Great Fit If You

  • Have worked as a content writer at a performance marketing agency for a minimum of five years
  • Have a strong foundation in content strategy with a performance marketing mindset
  • Can switch contexts quickly – from writing skincare copy to reviewing briefs for a real estate campaign
  • Know the difference between content that looks good and content that performs
  • Are obsessive about quality but pragmatic about deadlines
  • Stay current on digital marketing trends and platform best practices
  • Have some understanding of editing style guides
  • Thrive in remote work environments and over-communicate rather than under-communicate
  • Have an understanding of good design practices as well as what is working in terms of aesthetics for a particular ad category/type
  • Love mentoring others and building systems that scale
  • Can confidently present strategic recommendations backed by data

What Makes This Different

Industry Diversity: You'll never be bored. One week you're strategizing for an ayurvedic wellness brand, the next you're crafting messaging for a music festival. We're industry-agnostic, which means constant learning and creative variety.

Full Ownership: This isn't a "review and approve" role. You'll shape strategy, make the call on what works, and see the direct impact of your decisions on client results.

Remote-First Culture: Work from anywhere. We're built for remote collaboration and trust our team to deliver without micromanagement.

Performance-Driven: We care about results. You'll have access to real performance data and the autonomy to make strategic changes based on what you're seeing.

The Team You'll Join

We're a performance marketing agency that works with everyone from Netflix comedians to emerging D2C brands. Our sweet spot? Taking diverse brands and crafting content strategies that actually move the needle – whether that's driving ticket sales, increasing ROAS, or building brand awareness that converts.

We believe great content sits at the intersection of creativity and data. If you geek out over A/B test results as much as you do over a perfectly crafted headline, you'll fit right in.

What to Expect from Hiring Process

  • If you think you are the right fit based on the above, answer our questionnaire at the bottom of the page. (Please note: There is no one right answer. We are looking for your unique perspective and would encourage you not to rely on any AI platform in your responses.)
  • As part of the questionnaire, you will be required to share your CV and Work Samples.
  • If we would like to take things forward, we will require you to take a test for us to gauge your performance strategy and content editing skills.
  • This will be followed by two rounds of interviews.
Start Date: January 2026 onwards
Compensation: 7,20,000 to 11,00,000 rupees per annum, depending on experience and skill set
Location: Remote
