In Indonesia, the company is strengthening its trading and sourcing operations in the nickel and coal industries, two of the country’s key mineral sectors. It collaborates closely with local miners, smelters, commodity traders, and international buyers, connecting Indonesian resources to global demand through long-term partnerships, supply agreements, and strategic channel development.
Job Role:
A senior commercial leadership role responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and expanding sales channels in the nickel mining and smelting industry. The position requires deep market knowledge, established industry networks, and the ability to drive high-value transactions with mining companies, smelters, refiners, and commodity buyers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute marketing and sales strategies for nickel products across domestic and international markets.
- Lead market expansion initiatives targeting key clients in the nickel mining, smelting, and processing sectors.
- Build long-term commercial plans, pricing strategies, and supply-demand forecasts.
- Identify, build, and maintain strong relationships with major nickel suppliers, smelters, trading houses, and industrial off-takers.
- Expand networks and partnerships within the nickel mining ecosystem to access new business channels.
- Manage high-value negotiations, long-term contracts, and key account strategies.
- Monitor global nickel price trends, export regulations, supply chain risks, and competitor activities.
- Prepare strategic business reports for senior management with insights for investment, procurement, and trading decisions.
- Work closely with Procurement, Logistics, and Finance teams to ensure efficient contract fulfillment.
- Collaborate with China headquarters on pricing strategy, risk management, and volume planning.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with over 10 years of experience in nickel manufacturing, mineral mining, smelting, trading, or commodity marketing, including at least 3 years in managerial or team leadership roles handling marketing, commercial, or business development functions.
- Proven track record working with mines, smelters, processors, or global commodity trading companies, with strong existing channels and networks within the nickel mining ecosystem.
- In-depth understanding of nickel products, supply chains, smelting processes, export regulations, and LME price mechanisms, with skills in developing commercial strategies, forecasting, market analysis, risk assessment, pricing strategy, and negotiating complex business deals.
- Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder management abilities, combined with high commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to guide teams and influence business direction.
- Adaptable, dynamic, and able to operate in fast-paced commodity environments, fluent in Mandarin (written and spoken) and proficient in English.
