Our client is the Indonesian subsidiary of a long-established global equipment solutions provider under a major Japanese business group. The company specializes in the rental and sale of industrial and construction equipment, serving offshoring markets, which include infrastructure, mining, energy, and commercial projects across Indonesia.

As a confidential search, the client’s name will only be disclosed during interviews. The role is part of their expansion strategy to strengthen sales interactions with Chinese enterprise customers operating in Indonesia.

Job Role:

The Senior Technical Sales Executive (Chinese Speaker) will drive sales and business development for industrial equipment products, including pumps, gensets, lighting towers, and lifting machinery. The role focuses on acquiring and expanding business from Chinese companies in Indonesia—leveraging technical product expertise, strong communication skills, and effective relationship management.

The ideal candidate possesses hands-on experience in heavy equipment, industrial, or construction equipment sales, strong commercial negotiation capabilities, and Mandarin proficiency (HSK 4–5) to coordinate with Chinese clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, identify, and pursue new business opportunities, particularly with Chinese companies in Indonesia.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Deliver sales growth by promoting product sales and rental solutions for pumps, gensets, lifting equipment, and lighting towers.
  • Gain a deep understanding of equipment specifications and technical functions.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and technical discussions with customers.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend suitable technical solutions.
  • Provide pre-sales technical support and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Negotiate contract terms, tender proposals, pricing, and delivery conditions.
  • Collaborate with technical, service, and sales teams to secure and deliver client solutions.
  • Prepare accurate sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.
  • Ensure timely handling of customer requirements and follow-up on delivery or project timelines.
  • Act as the main point of contact for assigned client accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Uphold a strong safety-first culture in all sales and site visit activities.
  • Comply with all internal policies and safety standards.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in technical sales, industrial equipment sales, or engineering sales roles.
  • Experience selling or renting pumps, gensets, lighting towers, lifting equipment, or similar capital equipment.
  • Strong understanding of power generation, industrial equipment, or construction machinery.
  • Skilled in technical presentations and solution-based selling.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Target-driven, proactive, and commercially astute.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable with travel and fieldwork.
  • Proficient in Mandarin (HSK 4–5) and English for communication and reporting.
