Client Overview:

Our client is a fast-growing FinTech company founded by a US entrepreneur in 2022, first launched in the Philippines and then expanded into Indonesia in late 2023. The company provides construction financing solutions for real estate developers, focusing on residential housing or “rumah tapak”, with the goal of making housing development more accessible and efficient in Indonesia.

The company spent its first year testing product-market fit and formally launched commercial operations in Q3 2025, and now has chosen East Java to start the growth and expansion of their business, convinced that national banks already have advanced coverage and are under OJK supervision, making satellite cities highly potential. With a sales development team already active across Java, the company is now expanding its footprint in East Java, especially in satellite cities where traditional banks have limited penetration. The business directly competes with banks but differentiates itself with flexibility, speed, and focus on underserved regions.

Job Role:

As the Head of Business Development – Indonesia, you will play a strategic leadership role in driving the company’s market expansion. You will shape the business development and sales strategy, support product and SOP adjustments for the Indonesian market, and build a strong sales organization to fuel growth. This position requires a senior professional with deep expertise in consumer banking, mortgage, or financial services, combined with strong leadership and strategic execution skills.

Target Customers:

  1. Small to mid-sized real estate developers building landed housing (rumah tapak) in East Java’s satellite cities (outside Surabaya).
  2. Developers catering to the growing demand for affordable and mid-market housing in Sidoarjo, Gresik, Jombok, Mojokerto, Kediri, Jember, Tapal Kuda, Banyuwangi, and Madura, as a start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & BD Strategy – Define and execute business development and sales strategies in collaboration with the Country Manager and CEO.
  • Product & SOP Alignment – Provide market insights to adapt product offerings and operating procedures for the Indonesian market.
  • Market Development – Drive customer acquisition with real estate developers, focusing on construction financing opportunities across East Java and beyond.
  • Strategic Partnerships – Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders in consumer banking, property development, and related industries.
  • Leadership & Team Building – Establish, lead, and mentor the sales/business development team as the company grows.
  • Performance Monitoring – Set KPIs, track performance, and ensure consistent achievement of growth targets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with product, risk, and operations teams to ensure alignment between market needs and business processes.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
  • Experience:
    • At least 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles in business development, mortgage, consumer banking, or financial services.
    • Proven experience in shaping business or sales strategies at the national/regional level.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong background in mortgage, housing loans (KPR), construction financing, or consumer banking.
    • Track record of market growth, client acquisition, and team leadership.
  • Language Skills: English (fluency in business level).
  • Skills:
    • Strong sales, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to identify leads, build networks, and manage relationships.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Personal Qualities:
    • Strategic thinker with strong execution ability.
    • Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and mobile work environment.
