Job Role
The Assistant Sales Manager – Air Freight will be responsible for developing and expanding the company’s air freight customer base in Indonesia. The role focuses on generating new business opportunities, nurturing long-term client relationships, and delivering customized freight solutions that meet both cost and service requirements.
Key responsibilities include managing tenders, conducting rate negotiations, and preparing pricing simulations to ensure safe, efficient, and competitive logistics solutions. The role also acts as the main bridge between clients and internal teams, ensuring that sales commitments are translated into smooth operational execution.
By monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights, the Assistant Sales Manager will contribute to strategy development and revenue growth. This position also provides the opportunity to work closely with global carriers, co-loaders, vendors, and partners, reinforcing the company’s position as a trusted freight forwarding leader in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing & executing sales & marketing strategies to hit business targets.
- Generate new customers & achieve sales targets.
- Create new business leads & set appointments.
- Prepare accurate & professional quotations; select efficient, safe & competitive freight solutions (selling & buying).
- Design pricing simulations; manage tender processes.
- Produce daily/weekly/monthly performance reports for management.
- Coordinate internally (operations, vendors, co-loaders, liners, NVOs) to ensure smooth execution & support competitive rates.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer feedback; adjust strategies accordingly.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in Sales functions.
- 2+ years of sales experience in 3PL, freight forwarding (air cargo), or similar industries or businesses.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of freight/3PL business operations, especially air cargo.
- Experience managing tenders, doing pricing simulations, designing freight-solution suggestions.
- Language Skills: English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional Qualities: Strong communication, negotiation, relationship building with vendors and partners.
