Outright Play
Full-time
6 Kalinga Pl, Colombo 00500, Sri LankaUSD 80,000 - 150,000/monthAt Outright Play, we are building a company with a single vision: take culture to the world. Our mission is just as bold: turn artists into extraordinary icons.
This is our beginning. Year One. A small team with a big ambition. Every person we bring in will shape the future of this company. Every role matters. Every decision counts.
We stand on values that don’t bend:
- No Excuses. Only results matter.
- No Lying. Integrity above everything.
- Focus on People. We win together as a team.
The role of Digital Content & Community Manager is not a simple social media job. It is the heartbeat of our artists and brands online. You will manage communities across nine different entities, each with its own identity and voice. That means creating content pillars, planning shoots, coordinating editors, checking quality, publishing across platforms, and engaging with audiences every single day.
It is hands-on. It is demanding. And it requires full commitment. You will be trained through detailed processes and SOPs. You will learn how to manage end-to-end digital production. But training is only one part — the rest is discipline, curiosity, and drive.
This is an opportunity to grow with us from the ground up. To take on real ownership. To help build something rare in Sri Lanka: a focused label with global standards and global reach.
If you are ready to work hard, learn fast, and play a part in shaping culture — this is where it begins.
Company Overview
Outright Play is a Sri Lankan music label and entertainment company with one mission: turn artists into extraordinary icons. Our vision is bold: take culture to the world.
We work across music, events, publishing, and collaborations. We manage artists, produce content, build brands, and connect with audiences. Every project is a step toward raising the standard of entertainment in Sri Lanka to match the world stage.
This is not a large corporation. We are a small, growing team with the focus and determination to create something rare in this industry. That means every person we hire plays a critical role. You will not be a small cog in a big machine — you will help build the machine itself.
Our work is creative, fast-moving, and global in ambition. From social media campaigns to live performances, from music videos to brand partnerships, we bring artists and culture into the spotlight.
At Outright Play, you’ll be part of a team that demands commitment, but also offers growth. You will be trained, mentored, and given ownership. What you learn here, you won’t learn anywhere else in Sri Lanka.
Our Values
- No Excuses. Only results matter. Challenges will come, but accountability means finding a way to deliver, no matter what.
- No Lying. Integrity above everything. We are honest with each other, our artists, and our audience. Trust is built on truth, and we protect it at all costs.
- Focus on People. We win together as a team. We succeed when we support each other. Collaboration, respect, and care for the team always come first.
Role Summary
Digital Content & Community Manager is the link between our artists, our brands, and their audiences. This role is not just about posting on social media. It is about building and managing entire digital ecosystems.
You will oversee the online presence of nine different entities — each with its own voice, content pillars, and audience. That means planning, producing, and publishing content for multiple brands at the same time, while keeping each one consistent and aligned with its identity.
The role combines strategy, production, and engagement. You will:
- Plan content pillars and calendars.
- Work with artists and teams to capture content.
- Manage editors and ensure international-level quality.
- Build and maintain content libraries.
- Publish content across platforms.
- Engage directly with fans, communities, and partners.
This is a hands-on role. You will be part strategist, part producer, part community manager. The pace is fast, the expectations are high, and the work requires focus and discipline.
We are not looking for people with industry experience — because there is none. We are looking for young people who are ready to learn, willing to put in the hours, and eager to grow. This role is best suited for individuals who are comfortable spending long hours working independently at a screen, enjoy structured, detail-oriented tasks, and find satisfaction in behind-the-scenes work that drives visible results.
Training will not be formal or structured. This is a small business led by a founder, and learning will happen on the job — in real time, in a sometimes chaotic environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, learn by doing, and stay resilient when things are unclear or fast-changing. What we ask for in return is commitment, accountability, and results.
This is not just a job in social media. It is an opportunity to help shape culture, grow artists, and take Sri Lankan music to the world.
Scope of Work: Multi-Entity Management
Digital Content & Community Manager is responsible for managing the digital presence of multiple artists and brands under Outright Play. Each entity has its own identity, voice, content pillars, and audience expectations. Managing them means running parallel workflows — planning, producing, approving, and publishing content across different platforms every week.
Entities & Platforms:
- Yohani Music — Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Spotify, Apple Music
- Yohani Origins — Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter/X
- Dilanjan — Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter/X

- Outright Media House — Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter/X
- The Licenced – Streetwear — Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter/X
That means handling dozens of active channels at the same time. Each platform has its own formats, best practices, and engagement styles. It is the Digital Content & Community Manager’s responsibility to keep all of them alive, aligned, and growing.
What this looks like in practice:
- Content Pillars & Calendars
- Define and maintain content pillars for each entity (music campaigns, behind-the-scenes, lifestyle, live performances, endorsements, fun trends, and more).
- Translate artist calendars into content opportunities.
- Build posting schedules across multiple platforms.
- Production & Workflow
- Create shot lists and briefs for different brands.
- Oversee shoots — from mobile captures to professional productions.
- Manage file handovers, backups, and folder structures.
- Coordinate with editors and designers to deliver final content.
- Quality & Benchmarking
- Check every post for quality: resolution, grading, audio, captions, tone.
- Compare against international benchmarks — nothing goes live if it looks “average.”
- Content Libraries & Organization
- Maintain structured content pools for each brand.
- Keep approved content neatly organized for posting.
- Make sure assets are easy to find and re-use when needed.
- Publishing & Engagement
- Post daily across platforms, tailoring each piece for the medium.
- Use platform features (reels, shorts, live, stories) to maximize reach.
- Engage with followers — comments, DMs, mentions — in the right brand voice.
- Parallel Execution
- Manage overlapping campaigns across different entities.
- Track what’s pending, what’s approved, and what’s live.
- Stay disciplined and methodical — no brand can be left behind.
This scope demands someone who can handle complexity, stay highly organized, and thrive in a demanding digital environment. You won’t just be managing social media — you’ll be running multiple ecosystems in parallel.

Training, Probation & Work Environment
At Outright Play, we don’t hire “ready-made” professionals — because there are none in this industry here. What we look for are young, disciplined people who are willing to learn and commit.
Probation
- Every new hire goes through a one-year probation period.
- During this time, your focus is on learning, adapting, and proving your ability to deliver results.
- We don’t measure effort — only results matter.
Training
- There is no corporate training program.
- You will learn on the job, directly from the founder and team, guided by standard operating procedures and real-time feedback.
- Training will feel chaotic at times. Things will change quickly. You’ll often be figuring things out as you go.
- If you stay focused, you’ll learn faster here than in any formal program.
Work Environment
- We are a small, growing business, not a large corporation. Everyone wears multiple hats, and everyone’s work is visible.
- The pace is fast, the workload is heavy, and the expectations are high.
- This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable working independently at a screen for long hours, enjoys detail-oriented, behind-the-scenes work, and can stay disciplined without constant supervision.
- Flexibility is part of the job — artist schedules and events often mean working outside of standard hours.
Joining Outright Play means joining at the ground floor. The environment is demanding, but the experience is unmatched. If you commit fully, you will grow faster than you thought possible.
Required Skills & Qualities
We are not looking for experienced industry professionals. We are looking for young, driven people who can learn fast, stay disciplined, and deliver results.
Mindset
- Willing to learn and adapt in a fast-moving, sometimes chaotic environment.
- Comfortable with long hours of screen-based, detail-heavy work.
- Independent, disciplined, and able to stay focused without constant supervision.
- Resilient under pressure — problems will come, and you must find a way through.
- Fully committed to the work — not just interested in “fun” social media.
Core Skills
- Strong English communication and writing skills (Sinhala or Tamil is a plus).
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter/X).
- Basic design or editing skills (Canva, Photoshop, or simple video apps) are an advantage.
- Ability to stay organized, manage files, and follow structured processes.
- Analytical mindset — comfortable looking at numbers, insights, and reports.
Qualities That Stand Out
- Curiosity — always paying attention to what works online.
- Eye for detail — noticing what others miss.
- Patience — willing to repeat processes until they’re right.
- Accountability — takes responsibility for outcomes, not excuses.
This role is not for everyone. It is for someone who wants to learn, grow, and build a career in music, entertainment, and digital media — starting from the ground up.
Work Culture & Expectations
Outright Play is not a big corporation. We are a small, founder-led team with a big ambition: to take Sri Lankan culture to the world. That means the way we work is different.
What to Expect
- High visibility. In a small team, nothing goes unnoticed. Every task you do contributes directly to the company’s progress.
- Fast pace. Work moves quickly, priorities shift, and plans change. You must adapt and keep moving.
- Heavy responsibility. Managing nine entities means juggling competing deadlines and overlapping campaigns. Discipline and organization are essential.
- Flexibility. Artists don’t work 9 to 6. You will sometimes need to adjust to late nights, weekends, or last-minute changes.
How We Work
- Hands-on. Everyone, including leadership, is involved in the day-to-day.
- No hierarchy walls. You’ll work directly with the founder and artists.
- Multiple hats. You might plan a campaign in the morning, troubleshoot file backups in the afternoon, and engage with fans in the evening.
- No excuses. Only results. Effort matters, but outcomes matter more.
The Payoff
- You will learn fast, by doing real work from day one.
- You’ll gain experience that you cannot get in a large corporate environment.
- You’ll have ownership, influence, and the chance to shape the future of a company at its foundation.
This culture isn’t for everyone. It is demanding, sometimes messy, and always challenging. But for the right person, it will be the most rewarding career start you could ask for.
Career Growth & Opportunities
This is not just another social media job. It is a chance to grow with a company that is building something rare in Sri Lanka — a focused music label with international standards and ambition.
What You’ll Gain
- Real Experience. You will manage multiple brands and artists from day one. The skills you learn here will stay with you for life.
- Global Exposure. Our work is designed to compete on an international stage. You will see firsthand how global standards are set and applied.
- Ownership. In a small team, your work is visible and influential. You won’t be one person among hundreds — your contribution will shape outcomes.
- Learning by Doing. Instead of a corporate training program, you will learn by working directly with the founder, artists, and team on real campaigns, events, and releases.
Your Path Forward
- Grow from Digital Content & Community Manager into senior roles in digital strategy, brand management, or artist management.
- Build expertise that can take you into international music, media, or entertainment industries.
- Become part of a network of artists, creators, and professionals at the center of Sri Lanka’s cultural export.
This role will push you. It will challenge you. But if you commit fully, it will also set you up for a career that is bigger than this job, bigger than this company, and bigger than Sri Lanka.
What We Offer
We can’t offer the perks of a large corporation. What we can offer is something different — and, for the right person, far more valuable.
Opportunities
- Work directly with leading artists and growing entertainment brands.
- Be part of a small team where your work is seen, valued, and shapes the future.
- Gain exposure to international-standard processes in music, media, and brand management.
Growth
- Learn by doing — hands-on experience that no classroom or corporate training program can give you.
- Build a foundation that can take your career into senior roles in Sri Lanka and beyond.
- Grow with the company as it scales — the opportunities expand as we expand.
Environment
- A creative, fast-moving workplace where no two days are the same.
- Direct mentorship and feedback from the founder and team.
- The chance to contribute ideas, take ownership, and see them come to life.
Compensation
- Competitive salary for the Sri Lankan market.
- Increases tied directly to performance and results.
- Recognition and rewards for real contributions, not just effort.
What we offer is simple: a place to learn, to prove yourself, and to grow into the kind of professional who can stand on any stage, anywhere in the world.
Application Process
If this role speaks to you, we want to hear from you.
To apply:
- Send us your CV.
- Write a short note telling us why you want to build a career in music, entertainment, and digital media — and why you believe you’re the right fit for this role.
