Job Role
The Data Center Technical Director (DC TD) will be the technical leader for data center design and integration projects, with a focus on electrical and HVAC systems. The role includes leading design teams, guiding subcontractors, ensuring compliance with standards, and engaging directly with customers and senior stakeholders to present technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement: Act as the technical authority in customer discussions, presenting Huawei’s data center solutions.
- Design Leadership: Lead the design delivery team, responsible for system design, load calculations, technical route selection, and budget proposals.
- Technical Oversight: Guide subcontractors to produce shop drawings, and ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Standards & Integration: Ensure designs comply with data center standards, integration testing (TCCF), and bidding processes.
- Global Collaboration: Work with cross-border teams and adapt solutions for international projects, particularly across the Asia-Pacific region.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Building Services, Electrical, Mechanical, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience:
- More than 5 years of hands-on experience in Data Center projects, particularly the infrastructure, that involves data center design, integration, and implementation.
- Experience in delivering large-scale data centers (>500 racks).
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong expertise in electrical and HVAC system design.
- Familiar with data center bidding, standards, and integration testing (TCCF).
- Professional Skills:
- Strong adaptability, team collaboration, and resilience in multicultural settings.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Willing to travel globally, especially within the Asia-Pacific region.
- Language: Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
