Position Title: Business Development Manager – Supply Chain (Automotive Division)
Hiring Rationale Our client's division is experiencing limitations in growth when relying solely on existing businesses. Therefore, creating new business models and establishing additional profit streams has become a top priority. To align with the REGION directive on “Partner Strategy”, we require a professional with strong leadership, a proactive business mindset, and deep experience in the automotive supply chain from a local (Indonesia) perspective.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a leader in executing the company’s business strategies.
- Drive the “Partner Strategy” by developing local partnerships and facilitating collaboration with HQ global partners.
- Create synergies and build new logistics value chains.
- Serve as a key contact in developing and mentoring the next generation of middle management, particularly in relation to OEMs and potential partners.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Extensive experience and knowledge of the Indonesian automotive industry and supply chain.
- Strong negotiation skills and solid financial acumen, with the ability to engage partners in joint ventures, including manufacturers.
- Ability to formulate mid- to long-term hypotheses (e.g., future electrification, CN logistics), and to execute them through the PDCA cycle with a strong business initiative mindset.
- An experimental, adaptable mindset—embracing trial and error with enthusiasm.
- Language proficiency: English (required), Japanese (preferred), Chinese (preferred).
Expected Contributions & Career Path
Performance Expectations
- Year 1: Develop the Partner Strategy framework and identify potential collaboration schemes in Indonesia.
- Year 2: Establish a Joint Venture (JV) or Technical Alliance (TA) with a promising Indonesian supplier in the EV sector.
- Year 3: Strengthen local manufacturing by forming a JV or TA for production enhancement.
Career Path
- Manage and lead new business development activities as Group Lead in the Business Development Supply Chain Department.
- (Optional) Gain international exposure through regional or HQ assignments.
- Advance to Department Head, overseeing new business development and the entire Supply Chain Division.
- Progress to senior management, ultimately leading the entire Division and contributing to HQ’s global strategy.
