Responsibilities:
- Advise governments, regulators, and regional stakeholders on cross‐border electricity cooperation, drawing from ASEAN, APEC, East Asia Summit, and similar regional models.
- Lead strategic dialogues and consultations with energy ministries, regulators, utilities, and development partners in Southeast Asia (with special relevance to Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, or Thailand).
- Develop and refine regulatory frameworks, investment policy, and public‐private partnership pathways to enable electricity market integration and facilitate investor confidence.
- Provide inputs on technical reports, briefing papers, regulatory impact analyses, and stakeholder engagement strategies, especially in contexts relevant to Southeast Asia.
- Support regional working groups and capacity‐building efforts focused on harmonizing electricity policy, regulation, and operational standards.
Requirments:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in energy policy, regulation, or system integration, especially within Southeast Asia.
- Direct experience coordinating policy or regulatory reform in Southeast Asian markets (notably Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, or Thailand), and experience working with donors, international agencies, or regional bodies.
- Knowledge of cross‐border electricity trade (rules, regulations, power markets), and ability to work with both government and private sector stakeholders.
- Proven capability to lead investor engagement from early‐stage feasibility studies through regulatory and permitting readiness.
- Strong communicator in English.
- Excellent organizational skills; comfortable working across multiple countries and time zones, on remote teams.
- Willing & able to travel quarterly (up to 3 days) to capitals in Southeast Asia.
