The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, timely dispatch of goods, and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in logistics, and the ability to optimize warehouse processes to meet business objectives.
Key Working Relationships
Internal: Supply Chain Team, Accounts Team, Store Teams, and other department managers.
External: Vendors, Suppliers, and Logistics Partners.
Accountabilities
• Ensure efficient warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and implement stock control procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Provide leadership and training to warehouse staff.
• Monitor and report on warehouse performance and implement improvements.
• Respond to inquiries and issues professionally and promptly.
• Support month-end and year-end reporting functions.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement warehouse strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
• Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimizing shrinkage.
• Coordinate with internal teams to align warehouse operations with business needs.
• Optimize warehouse layout and processes to improve workflow and productivity.
• Monitor warehouse performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Lead and develop a team of warehouse professionals, providing guidance and support.
• Stay updated on industry’s best practices and emerging warehouse technologies.
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
General skills:
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Proficiency in English and Tok Pisin (Pidgin Language) preferred.
Technical skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in warehouse management or logistics.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data for decision-making.
• Proficiency in warehouse management software and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
• Certification in supply chain or warehouse management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
