Role Description: As the Head of Delivery for Swivel Group’s technology arm (Swivel Tech), you will take end-to-end ownership of project and solution delivery for our clients. In this senior role, you are responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while meeting or exceeding client expectations.
The Head of Delivery reports directly to the CEO and serves as a key bridge between our Sri Lankan delivery teams and our Australian stakeholders. You will work closely with executive leadership and teams in Australia (our regional headquarters) to align delivery outcomes with business goals. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strategic mindset who can drive operational excellence, client satisfaction, and continuous improvement across the delivery function.
Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Delivery Management: Lead and oversee the end-to-end delivery of technology projects and solutions, from initiation through deployment. Ensure all deliverables meet the agreed scope, timeline, and quality benchmarks , maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Leadership of Delivery Teams: Provide direction, mentorship, and oversight to Engineering Managers, Project Managers, and the broader delivery staff. Foster a culture of accountability, agility, and excellence, ensuring teams are motivated and equipped to meet their goals.
- Project Governance & Quality: Establish and enforce delivery best practices, processes, and standards (e.g. Agile methodologies) to guarantee that projects are executed efficiently and with top quality. Monitor project performance metrics and KPIs, addressing risks or issues proactively to keep projects on track.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with clients and internal stakeholders – especially our Australia-based leadership and clients – to align project outcomes with business objectives. Act as a senior point of contact for client escalations and ensure transparent communication on project status, risks, and achievements.
- Resource & Capacity Planning: Oversee resource allocation across projects and ensure the delivery teams are properly structured and resourced to meet current and future project demands. Work with the CEO and CGO on forecasting delivery capacity needed for upcoming engagements.
- Pre-Sales Support: Contribute to business growth by participating in pre-sales activities and solution planning. Work alongside the CGO and sales teams to provide delivery expertise during the proposal stage – including crafting solution approaches, effort estimates, and delivery plans – to ensure proposed projects are realistic and achievable. Take accountability for the delivery commitments made during presales by ensuring proper scoping and risk assessment.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the delivery function. Stay updated on emerging technologies (e.g. cloud, AI) and delivery methodologies, and introduce enhancements to processes or tools that can improve efficiency, adaptability, and quality of outcomes. Lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and implement best practices across teams.
- Strategic Leadership: As a member of the technology leadership team, contribute to strategic planning and decision-making. Provide delivery insights in executive meetings and collaborate on company-wide initiatives to help the organization innovate, scale, and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Required Experience :
Minimum of 8 years in technology delivery or project management roles, with a strong track record in delivering software development projects. Experience in a software consultancy, IT services company, or similar client-facing environment is highly desirable (providing exposure to managing multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously).
Must Have Skills:
- Software Delivery Expertise: Deep understanding of the software development life cycle and modern delivery practices. Proven ability to oversee complex software solution deliveries from conception to launch, ensuring technical feasibility and quality throughout. Experience with managing full-stack development projects and coordinating cross-functional engineering teams is a must.
- Cloud & AI Proficiency: Strong knowledge of cloud-based solutions and architectures (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and how to leverage them in project delivery. Familiarity with emerging technologies, especially in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning, and an ability to incorporate or manage AI-driven solution components is a plus.
- Leadership & People Management: Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and scaling teams. Capable of leading Engineering Managers, Project Managers, and technical delivery teams by example, providing mentorship and fostering a high-performance, delivery-focused culture. A hands-on leader who takes ownership and inspires the same in others.
- Agile Methodologies: Practical experience with Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban or SAFe frameworks) and an agile mindset. Able to drive teams in iterative development, adapt quickly to changing requirements, and champion agile best practices and ceremonies to improve velocity and flexibility.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and clients – including remote stakeholders in different geographic locations – through clear reporting, expectation management, and by building strong, trust-based relationships. Comfortable collaborating with C-level executives on strategy and with technical teams on execution details.
- Accountability & Results Orientation: High sense of accountability and a results-driven approach. History of being the accountable owner for project outcomes, consistently delivering projects on schedule and within budget. Demonstrates a delivery-focused mindset, ensuring business objectives are met through effective execution and problem-solving.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Adept at anticipating project challenges or delivery risks and devising effective mitigation plans. Can make tough decisions under pressure and find creative solutions to keep delivery on track
Educational Qualifications :
Atleast a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification (e.g. Master’s degree or MBA) is an advantage, especially if it includes a focus on project management or technology management.

- Professional certifications in Agile methodologies or project management

- Project Management Professional (PMP)
Additional Qualifications: Any additional certifications or training in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or in AI/ML concepts would be a plus, reflecting a commitment to staying current with technology trends relevant to our services.
