Role Description: The primary responsibility of this role is to lead technical delivery and architecture of Odoo-based ERP implementations, while mentoring the development team and collaborating with business stakeholders
Responsibilities:
• Lead the technical design, architecture, and development of custom Odoo modules and features.
• Handle integrations with third-party tools via Odoo API (REST/XML-RPC/JSON-RPC)
• Migrate data from Xero, MYOB, Retail Express, Lightspeed, and other systems.
• Develop scripts for the Odoo.sh hosting environment.
• Oversee version upgrades, module migrations, and performance tuning
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Ability to understand the requirements of the client stakeholders and simplify it to the team members.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following the industry’s best practices and coding standards. • Lead and mentor the development teams.
• Lead and participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards.
• Conducting technical interviews and supporting the hiring process.
• Understanding of device compatibility, accessibility requirements and compliance
• Offer feedback about team members to the team leadership constructively to conduct performance appraisals.
Years of Experience: Minimum 8+ years of software development experience with 4+ years of team leading experience
Education Qualifications: Individual should possess a bachelor’s degree in computing, Information Technology, or other relevant field (physical science, mathematics)
Must Have Skills:
• 5+ years of experience working with Odoo (v12+)
• Strong expertise in Python, PostgreSQL and JavaScript
• Deep knowledge of Odoo ORM, Workflows, Security, QWeb, and Reporting
• Familiarity with retail franchise environments and ERP systems.
• Proven experience with custom module development and Odoo upgrades
• Hands-on experience with Git and collaborative development practices
• Strong problem-solving and architectural thinking skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
