Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Data Governance Professional is responsible for establishing and maintaining a data governance framework to ensure data quality, integrity, and security across the organization. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to implement data governance policies and procedures in alignment with DAMA & SDAIA standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Data Governance Framework:
Design and establish a data governance framework based on DAMA & SDAIA guidelines.
Create and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Data Quality Management:
Monitor and improve data quality across the organization.
Implement data quality metrics and reporting mechanisms.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work with business units, IT, and other stakeholders to define and maintain data standards.
Facilitate data governance committee meetings and working groups.
- Data Stewardship:
Identify and assign data stewards for various data domains.
Provide guidance and support to data stewards in their roles.
- Compliance and Security:
Ensure compliance with data-related regulations and standards (e.g., NDMO, NDI, etc.).
Implement data security and privacy controls to protect sensitive information.
- Training and Awareness:
Develop and deliver training programs on data governance best practices.
Promote a culture of data governance and data literacy within the organization.
- Data Lifecycle Management:
Establish data retention and disposal policies.
Collaborate with IT and Cybersecurity to oversee the implementation of data lifecycle management practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelors degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data management, data governance, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies, data quality management, and regulatory compliance.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Preferred Certifications:
Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) by DAMA
Other relevant data governance or data management certifications
Daily Activities:
Policy Development: Regularly update and refine data governance policies.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with different departments to address data-related issues.
Data Audits: Conduct audits to ensure data quality and compliance.
Training Sessions: Organize and lead training sessions on data governance practices.

Required Qualification:
