Role Purpose: As a Senior AU Tax Manager, you will lead the preparation, review, and advisory aspects of Australian taxation for a diverse client base. You’ll oversee complex tax compliance matters, provide strategic business and tax planning advice, and manage a team of accountants while ensuring high quality service delivery. Your role is key in driving workflow efficiency, supporting client relationships, and contributing to the growth and success of the firm’s tax and advisory practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax & Accounting

• Prepare financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs, and individuals.
• Handle BAS, PAYG, FBT, Div 7A, and Tax planning.
• Manage indirect tax obligations (e.g. payroll tax, Workcover, land tax).
• Provide business advisory, budgeting, and financial forecasting support.

Client and Team Management

• Supervise junior staff, provide mentorship and review work.
• Manage workflow, set deadlines, and delegate tasks.
• Maintain strong client relationships and deliver high-quality service.

Special Projects & Advisory.

• Contribute to business and corporate advisory tasks, including due diligence and finance submissions.
• Conduct technical research and prepare advisory reports.

Systems & Compliance

• Use Xero and MYOB for accounting tasks (including asset register setup).
• Support external audits and manage compliance with ATO and legislative requirements.

Role Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration .
• Professional qualification such as CA, or CPA .
• 6+ years of experience in Australian taxation with 10+ years in overall accounting .
• Strong experience with Australian tax compliance and advisory for diverse entity structures.
• Proficiency in Xero Practice Manager, Xero Tax, and MYOB.
• Deep knowledge of GST, BAS/IAS, FBT, and ATO procedures .
• Strong analytical and research skills on tax legislation and compliance matters .
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior team members.
• Strong client-facing communication skills and Excellent time and workflow management.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
