The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records for our US operations while also overseeing payroll management for our Sri Lankan employees.

The ideal candidate will have a strong command of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple financial processes across different regions.

Position Overview:

This role requires a thorough understanding of both US accounting practices and Sri Lankan payroll regulations.

Job role:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Develop and implement financial accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with senior management to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team and stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
  • Manage and execute financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
  • Oversee and manage the payroll process for employees in Sri Lanka, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related statutory filings and payments in Sri Lanka, such as EPF (Employees' Provident Fund), ETF (Employees' Trust Fund), and PAYE (Pay As You Earn) tax.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or Part Qualification in CA, ACCA
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a senior finance role
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of successful financial management and strategic planning.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools.
  • Ability to work independently under minimum supervision.
