Assistant Manager / Senior Lead / Technical Specialist – Quality Engineering (SW01)

Role Description: This is a vital role in SwivelTech which requires quality engineering, technical and team management capabilities. This role reports to the engineering management in the organization hierarchy. The role has direct client exposure in delivering software solutions, offering advocacy around software discipline and uplifting engineering practices and software engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Set organizational standards, best practices, and key performance indicators for quality engineering automation
  • Act as a software quality automation advocate and consultant for clients to shape and improve their automation journey.
  • Research and develop automation frameworks and recommend improvements.
  • Make architectural decisions and offer solutions to address test automation challenges.
  • Analyze and select automation tools, supporting feasibility studies.
  • Be a hands-on automation engineer, willing to get involved as necessary.
  • Lead teams, providing guidance, support, and mentorship, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Collect and analyze project metrics to enhance team skills and ensure on-time delivery.
  • On a regular basis, ability to review automated test scripts and provide guidance for continuous improvement.
  • Regularly review automated test scripts and provide guidance for improvement.
  • Provide project updates, identify and mitigate risks, and maintain independent thinking.
  • Implement and oversee agile development processes for timely project delivery.
  • Coordinate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, gathering requirements and resolving issues.
  • Offer periodic updates to the leadership team, identify and mitigate project risks from the inception to project handover.
  • Collaborate with development, quality, dev-ops, UI/UX teams to plan and prioritize project work.
  • Previous experience with JavaScript automation projects is advantageous.
  • Participate in the recruitment process by conducting interviews and offering hiring recommendations.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews, set goals, and provide feedback for team growth.

Years of Experience: Minimum 8 years of Quality Engineering experience with at least 5+ years of automation experience. Minimum 3+ years of experience in leading teams is required.

We are looking for candidates working in a similar capacity as mentioned in the job description. However, we are open to consider candidates who has varying years of experience than stated if key job responsibility is automation.

Must Have Skills:

  • Software testing & quality engineering process experience: 8+ years

o Test planning

o Test design

o Test execution

o Reporting

  • Test automation scripting and framework development: 5+ years
  • Test automation scripting knowledge with JavaScript: 1 year
  • Behavioral Driven Development (BDD): 2 years
  • Test case management tools and defect management tools
  • SCM tools and CI/CD tools
  • Experience with Agile Software Development
  • Research & Development

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Hands on experience in performance testing
  • Hands on experience in security testing
  • Experience working in AI & ML projects

Open to Upskill:

  • Candidate should be open to upskill and move to emerging technologies and trends in quality engineering and test automation
  • AI & ML related tools and techniques related to automation space
