As we continue to expand, we are seeking a talented Management Accountant to join our team in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to work closely with the CEO and contribute to our financial success and strategic objectives.

Role Purpose:
As an Accountant you will work directly with clients, assisting them with bookkeeping and other reporting activities.
Responsibilities
Bookkeeping:
Reconciliation of bank accounts for multiple entities in multiple currencies, including:
- Interest income
- Payment of bills
- Interco transfers / payments on behalf of other entities
Able to nail GST / GL / tracking categories without assistance, including:
- Identification of prepayments
- Identification of fixed assets
- Understanding of accruals/accrued expenses
Running of simple payrolls, up to and including:
- Basic termination calculations
- Adding new employees
- Managing leave
Able to prepare a BAS/IAS autonomously and reconcile GST discrepancies
Accounts Payable:
- Take control of the AP process from start to finish (working out what to pay, reconciling invoices, generation of ABA file etc).
- Taking responsibility for the AP ledger and keeping track of failed payments and who hasn’t been paid.
- Can navigate NAB Connect / Commbiz etc platform.
Month-end:
- Updating month-end worksheet tabs for basic things like bank recs, super, PAYGW.
- Able to update prepayments/fixed assets/accrued interest.
- Able to post interco journals, including non-cash entries in opposing entities (manual journals) and balance.
- Able to review the PL for discrepancies/variances and update accordingly.
- Able to prepare an accrued expenses ledger for known expenses.
Requirements and Qualifications
- CPA qualification is preferred or ACCA / CIMA / CA nearing completion.
- 5+ years' overall accounting experience and 3+ years of Australian bookkeeping experience.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience working with an Australian accounting firm in public practice is required.
- Required to have processed payroll for a business with 20+ staff.
- Required to have Accounts payable clerk skills for a business with 20+ bills, including regular liaison with suppliers.
- Required to have prepared BAS workpapers out of Excel and/or Xero.
- Agile/able to learn things without detailed instruction and adapt to process changes.
- Can communicate with the team to voice concerns/issues as well as discuss things with the client.
- Time management and ability to follow up others in the team.
- Non-negotiables: Xero & Excel.
- Added Advantage: Other accounting software, DEXT, ApprovalMax, Fathom.
