Responsibilities

  • Direct the engineering team in the conception, planning, and delivery of software solutions aligned with strategic business goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and empowering environment to enhance productivity, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Maintain high standards of software quality by establishing and enforcing best practices for software design and development processes.
  • Encourage and lead innovation and creative problem-solving, staying abreast of the latest technological advancements.
  • Develop and maintain a technology roadmap, prioritizing critical initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineers to define and support their career paths through challenging technical growth opportunities.
  • Participate in periodic feedback sessions to bolster performance and conduct performance reviews.
  • Drive the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new engineering team members, ensuring the team maintains a best-in-class standard.
  • Implement and drive process improvements to enhance team efficiency, product quality, and development velocity.
  • Act as an internal engineering enablement resource, providing guidance and support to teams across the organization to optimize workflows and technical practices.
  • Serve as a strong advocate for the engineering team internally and externally, representing their interests and achievements to other departments and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all engineering initiatives align with the company’s strategic objectives and drive business growth.
  • Effectively manage team resources and project timelines to meet deliverables and strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing mid to large-sized engineering teams.
  • Additionally, a minimum of 1 year of experience in an architecture-level role, focusing on designing and implementing scalable, high-performance systems.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical background with experience in software development and web technologies.
  • Proven track record of managing software engineering teams delivering high-quality software products on time and within budget.
  • Extensive experience with modern software development practices and tools, including Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent leadership and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in staffing, mentoring, and maintaining a best-in-class engineering team.
