What You’ll Do:
- Build and refine operational systems to support scalability, drive efficiency, and enable sustainable growth across the organization.
- Oversee all aspects of accounting and financial activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to best practices.
- Lead the finance function, reporting directly to the Head of Finance and Operations, to deliver strategic financial insights and operational excellence.
- Manage the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments while addressing queries with precision.
- Oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring prompt and efficient invoicing to maintain positive cash flow.
- Maintain accurate and reliable financial records, upholding data integrity and compliance with established accounting standards.
- Support external audits by ensuring timely submission of documentation and addressing audit-related queries.
- Identify opportunities for streamlining and improving processes within the finance function, implementing solutions to enhance operational workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support informed decision-making across the business.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, safeguarding the organization’s financial integrity.
- Comply with transfer pricing regulations.
- Partner with external advisors, including tax consultants (VAT/IT), auditors, legal professionals, valuers, and government authorities, to manage financial and compliance obligations.
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery for all employees.
- Provide hands-on financial operational support for projects, ensuring robust control structures are in place to facilitate success.
What You Bring:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CIMA/ACCA/CA is an advantage)
- Relevant Experience: Minimum of 4 years’ experience in finance, with a focus on reporting, control, and financial management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial reporting software (e.g. Xero, Quickbooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proficiency in Tax Compliance: In-depth knowledge of the Sri Lankan tax system, including VAT, income tax, PAYE, and other local regulatory requirements, with proven experience in preparing and submitting compliance documentation.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP standards, financial reporting processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Skills: Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate financial concepts effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Fluency in English: Excellent command of English, enabling clear and precise communication across teams and stakeholders.
