Our client is seeking a Senior Power System Planning Consultant. The ideal candidate will be a specialist in power system planning, analysis, system studies, renewable energy integration, and advanced technologies such as energy storage and smart grids.

In this role, the consultant will be part of international project teams, working collaboratively with external partners both within and outside the APAC region. They will act as a technical expert on projects, manage their own technical tasks, mentor junior team members, and oversee their work. Additionally, they will interact directly with clients, identify new market opportunities, improve existing services, and lead the development of innovative offerings.

Responsibilities:

● Offering expert advice on modelling and analysing power system behaviour and electricity grids, as well as conducting a range of power system studies.

● Creating, reviewing, and contributing to detailed technical reports and commercial proposals.

● Delivering insights through high-quality presentations tailored to both clients and internal stakeholders.

● Aiding Sales and Business Development teams by contributing to commercial proposals and preparing pitches.

● Supporting all aspects of client engagement, including identifying issues, formulating hypotheses, executing analyses, synthesizing conclusions, and presenting recommendations.

Requirement:

● A master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.

● At least 8 years of relevant industry experience, with a focus on the planning, design, and/or operations of electric utility transmission and distribution systems.

● A passion for power system energy and a proven record of thought leadership in the industry.

● Extensive knowledge of value chains, value drivers, and technological challenges in the power system sector, gained through significant stakeholder engagement.

● Expertise in utility transmission and distribution system control and protection practices.

● Able to write and converse in English. Able to create clear and detailed technical reports.

● An established professional network within the electric utility and/or power developmentsectors.
