Role Purpose:

The Senior Accountant will mainly work on Bookkeeping and BAS preparation on Xero, manage the preparation and Lodgment of BAS’s for the firm – including Xero files and other files such as Excel Spreadsheets and other software.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Bookkeeping on Xero.
  • Managing the preparation and Lodgment of BAS’s for the firm – including Xero files and other files such as Excel Spreadsheets and other software.
  • Processing payments, invoices, and receipts and entering data into accounting software.
  • Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances.
  • Completing GST returns and GST reconciliation.
  • Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the accountant of errors.
  • Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, P&L, and balance sheets.
  • Managing employee expense claims.
  • Preparation of Payroll, Superannuation and PAYG matters.
  • Preparation of Bank and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparation of monthly management reports.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Accounting Degree in Finance٫ Accounting or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years' overall accounting experience and 3+ years Australian bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Knowledge on Australian tax laws.
  • Well-developed communication and client management skills.
  • A team player who can also work autonomously.
  • High level of Integrity.
  • Experience with Xero and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to accept changed priorities and recognize the merits of different options and acts accordingly.
