We are looking for a Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) to lead all aspects of the human resources function within the organization. The CHRO will provide strategic direction and operational oversight for talent management, culture development, organizational development, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, HR policies and procedures, and compliance with labor laws and regulations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CHRO collaborates with senior leadership to align HR initiatives with the overall business strategy and objectives.

Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee performance, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Work closely with multiple teams across the organization.
  • Anticipate and address future HR challenges and opportunities in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.

Organizational Development:

  • Design and develop the organizational structure and job roles to support business growth and agility.
  • Facilitate change management initiatives to support organizational transformation and adaptation.

Talent Acquisition and Management:

  • Oversee the recruitment and onboarding processes to attract top talent.

Employee Relations and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Handle employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Promote a safe work environment for all employees.

Performance Management:

  • Optimize the performance management system to consistently evaluate and develop employee skills and competencies.
  • Facilitate the development of performance improvement plans and coaching for employees.

Culture and Employee Engagement:

  • Promote the company’s core values and culture.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Create a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and empowered.
  • Lead efforts to maintain and improve the overall employee experience, ensuring it aligns with the company's mission and values.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Design and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Monitor market trends and benchmark compensation practices to attract and retain top talent.
  • Manage budgetary considerations related to compensation and benefits expenses.

HR Technology and Analytics:

  • Oversee the optimization of HRIS (Human Resource Information System) and other HR tools used across the organization.
  • Utilize data analytics to make informed HR decisions and measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.

HR Team Management:

  • Manage and lead the HR department of the organization.
  • Train the junior resources within the HR team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years with at least 3 - 5 years experience in HR leadership roles/as a CHRO, with a proven track record of strategic HR management.
  • Has a comprehensive understanding and experience with:
    • Talent Acquisition (includes headhunting)
    • Onboarding
    • Retention
    • Compensation and benefits
    • Performance management
    • Training and development
    • Succession planning
  • Must have worked in a business dealing with international clientele, ideally has managed multi-country teams. Experience within the Tech industry is a plus.
  • Proven experience deploying HR frameworks into businesses successfully.
  • Capable of restructuring and deploying improved policies, and frameworks and ensuring implementation within the business, while ensuring said policies/frameworks adapt to the evolving nature of the business.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, Sri Lankan employment/labor laws, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
  • Hands-on experience with HR technology suites, including Leave management and Performance Review systems/frameworks, with the capability to adapt frameworks to suit an organization best as it evolves.
  • Highly emotionally intelligent.
  • Conflict management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
