Location: Parkland Building Colombo 2, Sri Lanka Type of Contract: Full-time
Overview:Join NTG, one of the world’s leading marine groups, as a Data Scientist within our Group Customer Insight team. This role is pivotal in supporting our businesses and the group as a whole, to understand our customers, their engagement patterns, and optimize the conversion through the purchase funnel. This person will analyse customer journeys, using marketing data to understand the impact of campaigns in driving sign ups and ultimately revenue. The successful candidate will be providing valuable insight into customers’ behaviour at different stages of their relationship with NTG, making recommendations on engagement strategies for different customer segments, and helping to implement CRM initiatives that will boost brand and customer loyalty. An important aspect of the role will be collaboration with the marketing team in designing engaging campaigns that can be measured and conducting post campaign analysis. The ideal candidate would be proficient in data science and able to build marketing mix models and predict customer value and propensity to purchase based on purchase history.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver actionable customer insights and make recommendations based on post-campaign analysis.
- Provide timely and accurate regular reporting of KPIs.
- Analyze and model marketing campaigns to understand their performance.
- Interpret performance metrics and prepare data sets for analysis by querying multiple data sources.
- Implement measurement strategies to produce meaningful marketing KPIs and reports.
- Identify opportunities to enhance business and marketing performance.
- Define, transform, and structure data for analysis.
- Handle complex datasets to automate and streamline the analytics workflow.
Profile:
Essential Skills:
- Data analysis
- Building dashboards (ideally Power BI and Bloomreach/Exponea, or similar)
- Data interpretation
- Google Analytics, including Tag Manager
- Understanding of social media data
- Understanding of paid marketing data
Desirable Skills:
- Data science skills – predictive analytics
- Accessing APIs
- Proficiency in Python, R, or equivalent
- Understanding of KPIs, business processes, and data context
Experience:
- 3+ years as a marketing/CRM analyst
- Working knowledge of search engines, web analytics, and business research tools
- Excellent knowledge of databases and statistical packages (e.g., SPSS, SAS)
- Good knowledge of data warehousing and mining
- Experience with data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys, etc.)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
