Mentis Group is looking for an IT professional to join our team of superstars as a Senior Project Engineer. This position is for a technically talented, detail-oriented and ambitious individual with a strong desire to learn and grow, both technically and as a professional. Team players, only.
As a Managed Service Provider (MSP), Mentis Group supports the IT environments of multiple companies. The environments can vary in terms of size and complexity. As such, the pace and demands maintain a high level… typically much greater than an in-house IT position supporting one company.
Job Requirements:
• Minimum of 7 years in an infrastructure (not application) IT support role with at least 4 years delivering larger projects solely or in a “lead” role leveraging more junior Project Engineer(s) based on “Working Knowledge” section below.
• Advanced C1 English communication
Working Knowledge Required
• Windows Server hardware and operating system understanding, administration and deployment
• Windows Server Hyper-V administration and deployment
• Microsoft Office 365 administration and deployment
• Network hardware and technology understanding and experience e.g., TCP\IP, LAN, WAN, VPN, Datacenter, Cloud
o Firewalls e.g., Meraki, SonicWALL, Cisco ASA, VPN, etc.
o Switches e.g., VLAN, SNMP, STP, etc.
o Wireless solutions and implementation/troubleshooting
o Enterprise Storage Area Network / NAS
• Multi-Factor (MFA) administration and deployment for Office 365, Active Directory, and VPN administration and deployment (Cisco DUO experience preferred)
• Cloud Environment management e.g., AWS, Azure, etc.
• Workstation operating systems e.g., MAC, Windows 10
• Workstation productivity / operations application administration e.g., Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, etc.
Job Responsibilities
• Deliver large projects solely or in a “lead” role leveraging more junior Project Engineer(s) based on “Working Knowledge” section above.
• Work with Project Design Desk resource(s) and other Project Engineer(s) to review and validate prospective project scope based on “Working Knowledge” section above as well as knowledge of client-specific infrastructure environment.
• Provide ad-hoc support and mentoring of more junior Project Engineer(s) and Service Desk when needed via escalations, assistance, etc.
• Adhere to Mentis-defined project and service delivery metrics and expectations including DAILY time entry and status reporting.
• To be determined duties in alignment with seniority and/or working knowledge.
Other Considerations
• This position is intended to be a full-time position (with standard benefits to be discussed).
• This position will report to the Mentis Operations Manager who is responsible for project delivery as well as Mentis processes and tools.
• This position is intended to be ad-hoc support for Service Desk… during these times, this position will report to the Mentis Service Delivery Manager who is responsible for the Service Desk.
• This position may be included in the weekly on-call rotation (typically, 1 week per year with ad-hoc escalation support).
• If needed, Mentis will provide remote workstation and supplement $50 per month for internet service.
