San Francisco, CA, USAUSD 500 - 1,300/weekAt Metana, we are seeking a talented smart contract developer who is passionate about teaching others. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Solidity and be comfortable programming in raw bytecode and parsing calldata and memory manually. Familiarity with design patterns such as proxies, diamond standard, and other lesser-known patterns is a must. Additionally, knowledge of the NFT and DeFi ecosystem is highly desired.
The role requires professional blockchain development experience and is part-time, requiring only a few hours per week. The responsibilities include code reviews and occasional office hours.

The instructors will help learners through our curriculum as they produce ‘resume-able’ projects including:
- Developing, deploying, and testing Solidity Contracts
- Understanding Blockchain Cryptography, Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), and Ethereum Tokens
- Working with Defi
- Hacking Smart Contracts
- Host weekly group sessions via Zoom. Explain complex concepts with simplicity and ease by using real-life examples, practice exercises, analogies, and storytelling.
- Allocate time for proactive outreach for academic help on a weekly basis. Provide learner support in the form of office hours, live chat, and 1:1 sessions as needed.
- Provide and document curriculum feedback on a regular basis
- Report to Metana on learner progress and successes throughout the course.
- Develop teaching strategies to maintain high learner engagement.
- Demonstrate high empathy and ability to encourage learners who are struggling as well as provide additional challenges to the learners who are excelling.
- Collaborate cross-functionally.
- 2+ experience in teaching/training is strongly preferred
- 3+ years of relevant blockchain development experience
- Expert-level experience developing Solidity contracts and decentralized applications on the Ethereum blockchain
- Process-oriented with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Self-starting with the ability to effectively work autonomously with little oversight
- Extremely comfortable and compelling in public speaking situations
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
