- Create in-depth user guides, FAQs, technical overviews, and in-product help documentation.
- Test both the product and its documentation for accuracy and consistency.
- Adapt rapidly to a changing industry and be able to adjust responsibilities, time, and objectives accordingly.
- Identify problem areas or structural deficiencies and proactively contribute to their improvement.
- Regular communication and synchronization with the Director of Documentation and Certification.
- Research, understand, and then create original IT business content in multiple formats.
- The formats include webpages, blogs, whitepapers, case studies, brochures, battle cards, video scripts, infographics, campaign emails, social media, and technology news.
- Edit and polish existing content to improve readability.
- Progressively learn technologies, services, and products to emerge as an independent contributor and, hopefully, a thought leader in the longer run.
- Absolute command over formal B2B English; keen interest in U.S. jargon would help.
- Understanding of SEO best practices and web analytics will be useful.
- Develops a thorough understanding of the audience and the documentation required by meeting with colleagues, and working with managers to discuss technical problems
- Researches and builds knowledge about products, services, technology, or concepts to be documented
- Determines the clearest and most logical way to present information and instructions for greatest reader comprehension and writes and edits technical information accordingly
- Prepares or commissions graphics and illustrations to elaborate on or complement technical writing
- Meets with subject matter experts in order to ensure that specialised topics are appropriately addressed and discussed
- Collaborates with translators as necessary to convert writing into a variety of languages
- Works with sales and marketing colleagues to ensure that the finished documentation meets product requirements
- Revises, edits, or updates instructions, technical information, and frequently asked questions as necessary
