Responsibilities:

  1. Installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle database software and related tools.
  2. Creating and managing database instances, schemas, tables, and other database objects.
  3. Monitoring and optimizing database performance, including tuning SQL queries and optimizing database parameters.
  4. Implementing and managing database security measures, such as user access control, data encryption, and backup and recovery procedures.
  5. Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, including diagnosing and resolving database errors and performance bottlenecks.
  6. Planning and implementing database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  7. Collaborating with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration and operation of database systems.
  8. Conducting database capacity planning and resource forecasting to ensure scalability and efficient resource utilization.
  9. Keeping abreast of the latest Oracle database technologies, trends, and best practices, and providing recommendations for improvements.
  10. Documenting database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Requirements:

  1. Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, concepts, and administration tasks.
  2. Proficiency in installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle database software.
  3. Experience with database monitoring and performance tuning techniques.
  4. Familiarity with database security principles and best practices.
  5. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues efficiently.
  6. Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures and tools, including Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN).
  7. Understanding of SQL and PL/SQL programming languages.
  8. Familiarity with Oracle database tools, such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and SQL*Plus.
  9. Experience in implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as Oracle Data Guard or Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC).
  10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  11. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  12. Relevant certifications, such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE), are often preferred.
